Mehmas, Night Of Thunder and Wootton Bassett feature as Arqana reveal v.2 cast

Following on from the August Yearling Sale, and after a year's break, Arqana's v.2 Yearling Sale will return on Tuesday, August 17 at Deauville.

Now available online, the catalogue includes 146 colts and fillies selected, say Arqana, for their conformation and pedigree, and offering a guarantee of precocity on the racetrack.

The class of 2021 will attempt to follow in the footsteps of this year’s Classic heroine Coeursamba, who was consigned by Haras d'Haspel and sold to Jean-Claude Rouget in August 2019 before becoming the winner of the 2021 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches, following on from Teppal as well as Olmedo three years earlier.

Established stallions are widely represented in the catalogue, and they include Kodiac, Mehmas, Night Of Thunder, Oasis Dream and Wootton Bassett. Buyers will also have the opportunity to purchase the first crops of young sires Cloth Of Stars, Expert Eye, Harry Angel, Havana Grey, Mr Owen, Recoletos, Seabhac, Seahenge and Sioux Nation.

Of note among the colts and fillies out of black-type mares are:

• Lot 368, a daughter of Air Force Blue out of Louisiana Jewel Stakes winner Giant Cruiser from the excellent maternal line of Fara's Team, from Haras des Capucines;
• Lot 406, a daughter of Oasis Dream, the first foal out of black-type performer Not After Hours, from J.K. Thoroughbreds;
• Lot 417, a colt by Anodin, the second foal out of the Prix Rose de Mai scorer Princess Charm, from Haras du Cadran;
• Lot 465, a son of young sire Seahenge out of Listed winner Zylpha, from Fairway Consignment;
• Lot 480, a son of Kodiac, the second foal out of Listed-winning Beauty Of Love from the family of Breath Of Love and Breath Taking, from Haras d’Etreham.
