Looking for the next Bradsell? Tattersalls Somerville catalogue now out online
The sale includes full or half-siblings to 58 Group and Listed winners
A high-class catalogue made up of 313 yearlings has been released for the Tattersalls Somerville Sale, all of whom will be eligible for the £100,000 Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes and the £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes.
Taking place on Tuesday, September 6, the sale has enjoyed an excellent year with its graduate this term including Coventry Stakes winner Bradsell, Weatherbys Super Sprint winner Eddie's Boy and Listed winner New Collection among the highlights
This year's sale includes full or half-siblings to 58 Group and Listed winners including a Profitable half-brother to Group 2 winner Yonkers (lot 125); a Mayson half-brother to Renaissance Stakes scorer and Commonwealth Cup third Ventura Rebel (218); a Profitable half-sister to Meydan Group 1 winner Salute The Soldier (73) and a Kodiac sister to Chipchase Stakes victor Koropick (262).
Moreover, 43 yearlings catalogued are out of Group or Listed-winning or placed mares. These include Mickley Stud's Showcasing colt out of Marygate Stakes winner Delizia (184) and Barton Stud's Dark Angel filly out of dual Listed scorer Regatta.
There are also siblings to 216 two-year-old winners catalogued and 79 yearlings out of dams who won at two.
Proven sires with yearlings in the sale include Acclamation, Aclaim, Ardad, Bated Breath, Camacho, Churchill, Dark Angel, Havana Gold, Invincible Spirit, Kodiac, Mehmas, Nathaniel, New Bay, Oasis Dream and Zoffany.
Leading first-season sire Havana Grey, who sired his first stakes winner with Lady Hollywood at Naas on Wednesday evening, has 21 lots catalogued. He is responsible for 26 individual winners and a further eight Group/Listed performers.
Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony said: "It is a fitting tribute to the sale’s ethos of precocious, well conformed yearlings that the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale and its predecessor the Tattersalls Ascot Yearling Sale have produced Royal Ascot two-year-old winners for two consecutive years.
"The strength of last year’s sale and the outstanding season enjoyed by its graduates to date has resulted in a catalogue of real quality and depth.
"We are also looking forward to the inaugural £100,000 Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes which provides an additional incentive to buyers, alongside the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale’s burgeoning reputation as a consistent source of top-class juvenile talent."
