Law firm Edmondson Hall to sponsor National Stud evening lectures
Next year's programme to include session looking at legal issues in breeding
The National Stud in Newmarket has announced local legal practice Edmondson Hall as the new sponsor of its evening lecture programme for the next three years.
The series of lectures are an important part of the National Stud’s education programme with speakers from local veterinary practices, Newmarket Equine Hospital and Rossdales Veterinary Practice, as well as a wealth of other expertise in the East Anglian area.
Speakers come from a wide range of backgrounds including feed companies, external consultants, Cambridge Veterinary School and include the outgoing BEVA chairman Dr Jonathan Pycock among many others.
Edmondson Hall’s founding partner Mark Edmondson decided to sponsor the evening lecture programme after joining the Diploma in Stud Practice and Management students and other delegates at this year’s events.
Edmondson, who is an owner breeder through his August Farms, said: “Edmondson Hall has worked with the National Stud for 25 years and we couldn’t be more pleased to be involved with this great educational programme. I learnt so much from the course and thoroughly enjoyed it.”
As a result of the partnership, next year’s programme will include a session run by Edmondson Hall looking at the legal complexities around bloodstock, which will add to the wide range of topics on offer.
Edmondson Hall’s sponsorship will also allow The National Stud’s Diploma students to access free legal support while attending the course, providing students with an extra benefit as they start out in their careers in the bloodstock world.
National Stud managing director Tim Lane said: “We're delighted that Mark attended the lectures in 2019 and recognised the value they provide to our full time students and the many other delegates from local studs.
“It’s fantastic to be linking up with Edmondson Hall, who provide legal support to The National Stud and many other industry businesses.”
The evening lecture programme has been running for more than 35 years. Its 40 lectures cover a wide range of topics suitable for industry staff, breeders and general horse owners. The programme runs annually from January to June.
