I Am Invincible, who has only just been crowned Australia's champion sire for the first time, has a rare British runner on Friday when the southern hemisphere-bred Lady Hamana makes her debut in the Newmarket Nights Fillies' Novice Stakes on the July course.

In fact, the Yarraman Park talisman has fielded only three representatives in Britain, and they've all been pretty smart.

Brazen Beau, now a successful Darley stallion, was beaten half a length by Undrafted in the 2015 Diamond Jubilee Stakes, having been a dual Group 1 winner back home.

Four years later, Houtzen had a go in the same race, finishing eighth behind Blue Point but running a much better race in second against Battaash in the King George Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

Home Affairs, another elite Australian sprinter, represented Coolmore and Chris Waller in the Platinum version of the Royal Ascot Group 1 this year but proved a bit of a disappointment.

There is a southern hemisphere connection with Lady Hamana, whose owner-breeder Yuesheng Zhang has made huge investment in the country's industry.

Sent to Karl Burke, the two-year-old is the second foal out of Shamardal mare Lake Hamana, an unraced half-sister to Prix Saint-Alary winner Sobetsu. She was acquired by Zhang's Yulong Bloodstock through Sheamus Mills at the 2016 Tattersalls July Sale for 210,000gns.

I Am Invincible, currently standing for a fee of A$247,500 (£141,000/€169,000) is a Group 3-winning son of Invincible Spirit responsible for 79 stakes winners to date who has continued to impress with his progeny in the sales ring.
