King's Lynn maintained an outstanding run for his owner-breeder the Queen's mare Kinematic as he became the third of her three foals to win within the last few weeks.

Winner of a valuable sales race as a two-year-old, the Andrew Balding-trained King's Lynn had been without another victory in a season and a half but had hinted that his success in the Listed Betway Achilles Stakes had been in the offing in his two recent starts.

The oldest member of Kinematic's brood was becoming a fourth individual stakes winner for Highclere stallion Cable Bay, just a week after his year-younger full-brother Collinsbay landed the Group 3 Premio Tudini in Italy.

Collinsbay was sold for 50,000gns out of the Richard Hannon stable at Tattersalls last October while Michael Bell prepared their juvenile Oasis Dream half-brother Spring Is Sprung to score at the second attempt in Her Majesty's silks at Windsor in April.

Balding also trained Kinematic, a winning daughter of Kyllachy from a family that goes back a few generations for the Queen through to the high-class Soprano and her dam Contralto.

Cable Bay's standard-bearer Liberty Beach was also on the mark last weekend, when she took the Temple Stakes at Haydock.
