If the outcome of races were decided on pedigree alone, it seems entirely possible Jacksonian would have already been declared the winner of the Heath Court Hotel British EBF Maiden Stakes at Newmarket's July course on Saturday, such are his claims on breeding.

The Juddmonte homebred is from the fourth crop of Frankel, meaning he shares his sire with 72 stakes performers, a list headed by eight Group/Grade 1 winners such as Anapurna, Cracksman, Veracious and Without Parole.

Not only is Jacksonian by the unbeaten dual world champion, but is from one of Juddmonte's strongest families. He is the sixth foal out of Kalima, who has produced two winners so far, headed by the Goodwood Listed and Australian Group 3-winning Cape Cross horse Jet Away.

Kalima never raced herself but boasts an exceptional pedigree as a Kahyasi sister to none other than Hasili, who has left an indelible mark on the breed through her exploits as a broodmare.

Hasili produced a staggering seven black type winners, including five who struck at the highest level. Her elite-level winners are: Banks Hill (winner of the Coronation Stakes, Jacques Le Marois, Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf); Cacique (Manhattan Handicap and the Man O'War Stakes); the late Champ Elysees (Canadian International Stakes, Hollywood Turf Cup Stakes, Northern Dancer Turf Stakes); Heat Haze (Matriarch Stakes, Beverly D Stakes); and Intercontinental (Matriarch Stakes, Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf).

Moreover, Hasili also produced Dansili, who may not have won a Group 1 but did sire more than his fair share of high-class talents, including Harbinger, Rail Link, The Fugue and Flintshire.

Jacksonian is not the only well-bred newcomer in the line-up, however, as Godolphin are set to field Military March in opposition. The Saeed bin Suroor-trained colt is by New Approach and out of Punctilious, winner of the 2005 Yorkshire Oaks.

The daughter of Danehill, who was bred by Stradivarius's owner-breeder Bjorn Nielsen, has produced four winners, headed by Military March's brother and decent stayer Clongowes.

In turn Punctilious is out of the Group 2 winner Robertet and is a half-sister to Sagaro Stakes scorer Risk Seeker and the Listed-winning Redwood Falls.
