Geoglyph, winner of the Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2,000 Guineas) in 2022 and one of only two horses ever to beat the mighty Equinox, has been retired from racing and is to stand at Yushun Stallion Station in Hokkaido.

It has been reported in Japan that the six-year-old suffered an injury to his right foreleg which would take a considerable amount of time to recover from.

Geoglyph was the first top-level winner for Shadai Stallion Station's Drefong when landing the Satsuki Sho, a race which was his most recent of three from 21 career starts. He finished a length in front of Japanese champion Equinox.

Bred by Northern Farm he is the fourth foal out of the King Kamehameha mare Aromatico, who was third in the Shuka Sho and Queen Elizabeth II Cup.

In the colours of Sunday Racing, Geoglyph would end up running all around the world, competing in Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia and Dubai and finishing fifth in the most recent Breeders' Cup Mile at Del Mar.

He had most recently appeared in Australia and finished last behind Via Sistina on his final outing in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick in April.
