Tattersalls February record-breaker Easton Angel with Coolmore
Daughter of Dark Angel is in training with Aidan O'Brien
Easton Angel, who sold for a record-breaking price at this year’s Tattersalls February Sale, was bought for Coolmore connections it has transpired, and is in training with Aidan O’Brien.
In this week’s latest ownership registrations released by Horse Racing Ireland (HRI), Easton Angel was registered on March 8 and her owners are published as Mrs John Magnier, her daughter Mrs David Wachman, daughter-in-law Mrs MV Magnier and Mrs Paul Shanahan.
The four-year-old daughter of Dark Angel was sold to agent Mick Flanagan for 500,000gns, making her the most expensive horse auctioned in the 18 years of Tattersalls’ February Sale.
At the time of her sale, Flanagan said: “She has been bought to breed from but I have been told that she has plenty of racing left in her so we do have options.”
Easton Angel was the winner of two Listed contests over five furlongs last year and was also second in the Queen Mary Stakes and third in the Lowther Stakes as a two-year-old for former trainer Michael Dods and owners Al Shaqab Racing and Ritchie Fiddes.
