A filly by Bolt D’Oro was the star attraction during the penultimate session of the Ocala Breeders' Sales (OBS) Spring Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale, with Bill Childs of CSLR Racing going to $1.3 million for the Kings Equine-offered youngster.

Nine horses sold for $700,000 or more during Thursday's session. The day’s gross of $26,036,000 from 143 sold was up 21 per cent compared with the total for the 148 two-year-olds who changed hands a year ago. The average weighed in at $182,070, up 25 per cent, while the median improved five points to $80,000.

Despite concerns around the global economy, the overall figures through the first three days of the sale continue to tell a story of ongoing market strength. The cumulative gross of $77,945,000 from 479 sold was up 12 per cent on the same point in 2025, the average of $162,724 was a 16 per cent lift, while the median rose 15 per cent to $75,000.

The top seller became the fourth horse to hit the seven-figure threshold during the first three sessions of the four-day sale. She is the fifth foal out of Gas Station Sushi, a daughter of Into Mischief and the dam of two winners.

Gas Station Sushi is the out of the stakes winner and multiple stakes producer Five Star Daydream, making her a half-sister to the Grade 2-placed winner Miss Costa Rica. She was bred by Spendthrift, who purchased Gas Station Sushi in 2018 for $675,000 at Fasig-Tipton's November Sale.

The filly heads to the barn of trainer Danny Gargan, and Spendthrift’s general manager Ned Toffey confirmed that expectations were high in the wake of her exceptional breeze.

He said: “She’s a lovely filly. I think Into Mischief mares are really popular right now. But most of all, it was how she breezed. She breezed so well, she was so efficient. It looked effortless but very fast. She did everything the right way.

“We thought she was a nice filly, but I think over the last month and then out here, she’s done nothing but get better and better. She very much came into it the right way."

Gargan, who saddled Iron Orchard to win last year's Frizette Stakes, said: “We thought she was the best filly in this sale, and we just had to wait.

“I thought her breeze was tremendous and she’s a very good looking individual. We were lucky enough to buy her. I’m excited she’ll be coming to me in Saratoga.”

Fillies were particularly in demand, with the three top-priced juveniles of the day all females. St Elias Stable bought a filly by Liam's Map from Tom McCrocklin's consignment for $925,000, while Donato Lanni, working on behalf of Baoma Corp, secured a filly by McKinzie for $900,000.

The highest-priced colt on the day was a son of freshman sire Speaker's Corner, who sold to Lauren Carlisle for $875,000. He was offered by Omar Ramirez Bloodstock.

The final session of the OBS Spring sale takes place on Friday.
