Showcasing remains at £35,000 as Whitsbury Manor Stud unveils fees
Sire of Quiet Reflection maintains level after steep rise through the ranks
Showcasing, who last year completed his giddy four-year rise from £4,500 to £35,000, is to stand at the same fee in 2018.
Whitsbury Manor Stud's flagship sire is responsible for dual Group 1 winner Quiet Reflection as well as Group 2 scorers Prize Exhibit, Projected and Tasleet.
But Adaay, who joined the roster this year in partnership with Shadwell, took a clip from £7,000 to £6,000 as the Hampshire farm's fees for next year were unveiled. Due Diligence, whose first foals will shortly go under the hammer, is another to receive a slight trim next year, from £5,500 to £5,000. Completing the roster is Swiss Spirit, who remains at £4,000.
Ed Harper, Director of Whitsbury Manor Stud, said: "It has been another memorable year for Showcasing headlined by three individual Group 2 winners. The first crop of yearlings from his
improved mares sold up to €460,000 at recent sales and his book remains strictly limited.
"Adaay covered a full book of 125 mares in his first season and, as a
dual Group 2-winning son of Kodiac, he fits a very commercial bracket. He will again be available to view at Beech House stud over the December mare sales.
"The first foals by Due Diligence head to sales next month on the back of another superb year for his sire War Front. He will stand at the slightly reduced fee as we are keen to offer our clients the best possible value.
"Swiss Spirit has achieved 15 individual two-year-old winners at an impressive strike rate, and had yearlings sell up to £120,000 this year. He has a lot to look forward to with his larger crops of yearlings and foals coming through the pipeline."
