Senator, a son of the great Frankel, overcame clear signs of inexperience to make a successful debut in a 6f maiden at Leicester on Wednesday evening to become the eighth winner from his sire's first crop.

The chestnut colt briefly looked in trouble around two furlongs out but, despite showing his immaturity, made headway to lead inside the final 50 yards and ultimately won with plenty to spare to become the seventh first-time-out winner for the Banstead Manor resident.

The Richard Fahey-trained juvenile was carrying the familiar colours of Cheveley Park Stud, who bred Senator out of their Selkirk mare Red Bloom.
