Homecoming Queen, runaway winner of the 1,000 Guineas in 2012, got her broodmare record off to the perfect start on Saturday.

Her first foal, the two-year-old Galileo filly First Of Spring, was a two-length winner of a 6f maiden for unraced fillies at Deauville for owner Joseph Allen and trainer Jean-Claude Rouget.

First Of Spring is showing more precocity than her dam, who took eight attempts to get off the mark at two, eventually scoring in a Fairyhouse nursery.
