Saint-Cloud plays host to a sublimely bred newcomer on Thursday, with the Wertheimer brothers introducing Plumatic in the Prix Avenger at 2.20pm (1.20pm GMT) over a mile and a quarter.

The three-year-old colt is by Darley’s flagship stallion Dubawi and is out of the Group 1-winning Rainbow Quest mare Plumania, who carried the Wertheimer brothers’ colours to success in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud in 2010 for Plumatic’s trainer Andre Fabre.

She has already produced two winners from two runners, including Listed scorer Maniaco, a son of Galileo that won the Prix Vulcain at Deauville. Pulmania is a half-sister to Balladeuse, who won the Group 2 Prix de Royallieu before going on to produce Group 1 Prix Vermeille winner Left Hand.

Since producing Plumatic, Plumania has gone on to have a colt by New Approach who is also in training with Fabre, and last year produced a colt by the Gilltown Stud resident Sea The Stars, who has since been exported to France.

Further back it is the family of Groom Dancer and Falco.

First-season sire Style Vendome is represented by two runners in the opening race at 12.40pm (11.40pm GMT) and the first of his runners is the Corine Barande-Barbe-trained Kyvon Des Aigles.

Out of the Enrique mare Kiva Des Aigles, he is a half-brother to the placed Achille Des Aigles. He boasts a classy pedigree as his dam is a half-sister to Barbe's seven-time Group 1 hero Cirrus Des Aigles.

His other representative in the contest is Acapella Style, a filly out of the placed Invincible Spirit mare Sunrise Song. Sunrise Song is closely related to the Grade 1-placed Desert Prince mare Rinterval and is from the family of Interval, Short Pause and Zambezi Sun.
