Mullins snaps up Holiday Winner from latest online auction
The daughter of Vision D'Etat won twice on the Flat in France
Holiday Winner, an imposing daughter of VisionD'Etat who has won two races on the Flat in France, has been sold to bloodstock agent Pierre Boulard, acting on behalf of Irish champion trainer Willie Mullins, for €110,000 through Arqana’s online auction facility.
The four-year-old filly, offered as a jumping prospect, was trained in Deauville by Romain Le Dren Doleuze, son of former jockey George and brother to Hong-Kong based Olivier.
Boulard is convinced that his latest acquisition boasts all the necessary attributes to excel over obstacles.
“She’s an impressive athlete with plenty of size but not on the heavy side, which is important over jumps,” he said.
“Her form is very progressive and she has shown that she handles soft ground, a requirement to run in Ireland. Willie and I are very pleased to have bought her at what we think is a fair price for such a package.”
There have been several notable examples of Mullins’ ability with mares sourced from France in recent times, having enjoyed success with the likes of Let’s Dance, Limini and Petite Parisienne.
