Flying first-season sire Frankel put his second stakes winner on the board in the Group 2 Lowther Stakes at York on Thursday and the omens for the filly running well in the race were in her female family.

Queen Kindly showed a sharp turn of foot to defeat Duchess of Cambridge Stakes winner Roly Poly and hot favourite Fair Eva - who had become Frankel's first stakes winner in the Princess Margaret Stakes last month - in the 6f contest.

She has been cut to 8-1 for the 1,000 Guineas although trainer Richard Fahey was unsure whether the step up to a mile would suit.
