Lime Country Thoroughbreds to move to Think Big Stud

Lime Country Thoroughbreds, a boutique breeding, boarding and consignment business, is to relocate from its New Zealand property to the state of the art Think Big Stud in New South Wales, Australia, next February.

Lime Country was established in 2007 by Greg and Jo Griffin and has quickly grown to become one of New Zealand's leading consignors.

The Griffins will continue to offer their current services - sales prep, breaking-in, pre-training and recuperation - at their new location.

Their new premises of Think Big Stud is owned by nonogenerian Malaysian businessman Dato Tan Chin Nam, a close friend of the late Bart Cummings who has owned stars such as Allez Wonder, So You Think and Viewed.

Lime Country will make its debut consigning from its new premises at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, where its draft will include a Redoute's Choice colt out of Dato Tan's multiple Group 1 winner Faint Perfume.

Greg Griffin said: "We are honoured that Dato Tan and his family have entrusted us with their stud and horses that will remain at the farm.

"We have spent the last ten years building our business in New Zealand and this is the next natural step forward for us. We already have some fantastic Australian clients who we will enjoy being closer to, and we are keen to provide our clients in New Zealand and Asia, and new clients from America and Europe, our services for their Australian interests, too.

"Australia gives us access to the world and we have been fortunate to find a wonderful river-frontaged farm with a proven track record that has helped create a part of Dato Tan's legacy.

"We have the yearling sales at Karaka New Zealand in January ahead of us yet where we have almost 30 yearlings to offer so we are heads down for the next few months but look forward to welcoming clients, present and future to Lime Country in New South Wales next year."
