Group 2-winning son of Dubawi retired to stud in Argentina
The horse was also third in the Group 2 Lennox Stakes
Safety Check, a high-class performer for Godolphin in Dubai and Britain, has been retired and is set to take up stallion duties at Haras la Numancia in Argentina.
Diego Mitagstein, of Turf Diario and Heritage Bloodstock, handled the deal for the purchaser, Diego Franceschini's Heritage Stud.
The six-year-old son of Dubawi won ten of his 25 starts, and was praised by trainer Charlie Appleby as "a brilliant racehorse to train".
"He excelled over seven furlongs and one mile and ran some exceptional races against strong opposition," he added.
"To win four stakes races, including both the Al Fahidi Fort and Zabeel Mile twice is an indication of how good he was on the racecourse. But he was also ultra-consistent, finishing in the first three in 16 of his 25 starts.
"He was also third in the Group 2 Lennox Stakes at Goodwood, and fifth to the outstanding Japanese horse Maurice (beaten just under four lengths) in the Group 1 Champions Mile in Hong Kong."
Safety Check is out of the unraced Royal Academy mare Doors To Manual, a half-sister to Criterium de Saint-Cloud winner Marchand De Sable.
Bred by Malih Al Basti, he entered the Godolphin fold when he was bought by John Ferguson for 125,000gns at the Tattersalls December Foal Sale.
