Frosted and Territories to take up southern hemisphere duties

Darley have announced that their stallions Frosted and Territories will shuttle to Australia for the 2017 southern hemisphere breeding season.

Frosted, a five-year-old son of Tapit, was trained by Kiaran McLaughlin to win six races including the Whitney Stakes, Sun Metropolitan Handicap and Wood Memorial Stakes at the highest level.

The Darley homebred also finished second behind Triple Crown hero American Pharoah in the Belmont Stakes. His sire Tapit has supplied a number of top-class performers including Tonalist, Untapable and Creator.

Frosted is currently standing his first season at Jonabell Farm at a fee of $50,000 and will shuttle to Darley's Northwood Park.

Territories, who took up stallion duties at Dalham Hall Stud this year, was trained by Andre Fabre to win the Prix Jean Prat as a three-year-old.

It is likely he will prove popular in Australia as he is a son of Irish National Stud stalwart Invincible Spirit. The 20-year-old son is well-known as a sire of sires and he is responsible for leading Australian stallion I Am Invincible.

Territories will stand at the operation's Kelvinside base.

"Territories is by the sire of I Am Invincible and from the same female family as Darley's amazing servants Street Cry and Shamardal so there's no doubt he has the credentials to be a success at stud. He's exactly what our market will love.

"Andy Makiv and I went and inspected Frosted and Territories earlier this month and were taken by both horses. I have no doubt our clients will be very impressed by them when they see them."

Fees for both stallions will be announced at a later date.
