Friday sees first runners for Burwaaz, Heeraat and Olympic Glory

Fans of Rathasker Stud first-season sire Bungle Inthejungle have had to fasten their seat belts as the Flat season started up, with him being the quickest freshman off the mark in supplying Dundalk maiden winner Jungle Jane.

The son of Exceed And Excel was also represented by three runners, including the sixth-placed Carey Street, in the Brocklesby Stakes at Doncaster on Saturday, and has two more daughters to represent him on Friday in Lippy Lady and Nakakande.

Others from the Class of '18 - Burwaaz, Heeraat and Olympic Glory - will see their first runners line up on Friday.

Burwaaz shares his sire with Bungle Inthejungle and his daughter Harperelle, a £4,800 yearling purchase for Tom Malone, represents him in the 5f conditions stakes for fillies at Newcastle (4.25).

She is trained by Karl Burke for Hope Eden Racing and his wife Elaine Burke and will be ridden by Ben Curtis.

Ynys Mon will be the first runner for four-time Group 1-winning miler Olympic Glory, and Arbuckle the first for Heeraat, when they partake in the valuable conditions stakes for juveniles at Bath (2.00).

The former would appear to hold much the better chance. The son of Listed-winning Falbrav mare Russian Spirit was pinhooked as a €26,000 foal by Lynn Lodge Stud who got 85,000gns for him as a yearling from Barry Hills, whose son Charlie now trains him.

Arbuckle, meanwhile, is the outsider in the eight-runner field, but while Bath and Cheltenham may be worlds apart in racing terms, his Camacho half-brother Mr Adjudicator did finish second to Farclas in the Triumph Hurdle earlier this month.
