Charm Spirit, a three-time Group 1-winning miler, becomes the latest freshman sire to field a runner this year, when his son Inosanto lines up in the 5f novice stakes on the Southwell all-weather on Sunday.

Bungle Inthejungle, the only first-season sire yet to get off the mark, has his daughter North Korea, a €5,500 Goffs Orby yearling purchase, to bat for him.

The departure of High Chaparral in 2014 left its mark on both the Irish and Australasian breeding scene, and his loss was closely felt in Australia on Saturday when he brought up a stakes double and his son Dundeel supplied his first stakes winner.
