Frankel made a relatively late start to his own racing career at Newmarket on Friday, August 13, 2010 - a date that was certainly unlucky for his 11 rivals who included subsequent Group 1 winners Nathaniel and Colour Vision. Yet in his first season with runners he has already posted seven winners and two black–type performers as a sire to mid–July.
The chances are that his offspring can go on to secure greater success as they mature, with many superbly bred youngsters still to make an appearance.
Al Shaqab has a strong group of Frankel two–year–olds with March 19 foal Erdogan in particular looking capable of improving his sire’s strike rate.
