Family fortunes for Kavanagh with Thikriyaat's success
Kildaragh Stud bred the three-year-old out of the Whipper mare Malaspina

The three-year-old son of the late Azamour was bred by Kavanagh out of the Whipper mare Malaspina, whom Kavanagh had purchased for €22,000 at the Arqana December Mixed Sale in 2010.
Malaspina was bred by Citadel Stud, the operation of the late Gerry Oldham, and boasted a strong pedigree with her siblings including Tonnara, the dam of Group 1 winners Ectot and Most Improved.
