Elite Aga Khan mare Ervedya delivers Sea The Stars filly

Ervedya, winner of the 2015 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot for the Aga Khan, has delivered her first foal by Sea The Stars.

The 11-year-old became the first winner for her sire Siyouni when she defeated Irish Rookie in the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches the same year, and rounded off her three-year-old campaign by winning the Prix du Moulin - her third elite success over a mile.

The choice to mate Ervedya to six-time Group 1 winner Sea The Stars seemed natural, with the son of Cape Cross standing at the Aga Khan's Gilltown Stud.

Siyouni recorded a second Group 1 winner when Laurens landed the Fillies' Mile last October.

Zarak has first ten mares scanned in foal

Zarak's new career as a stallion has got off to a flying start, with ten of the first mares he covered tested in foal.

A son of Dubawi out of champion racemare Zarkava, Zarak lived up to his pedigree when winning the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud last July, and is fully booked for his first season at stud.

Zarak stands for €12,000 at Haras de Bonneval alongside leading French sire Siyouni, three time Group 1-winning miler Charm Spirit and Dariyan, a top-flight winner by Shamardal who has his first foals this year.

Keeneland makes two additions to its sales team

Kyle Wilson and Dean Roethemeier will join the Keeneland sales team as sales associates from March 19.

Both are graduates of the Darley Flying Start [now Godolphin Flying Start] programme.

"We are pleased to welcome Kyle and Dean to Keeneland," said Bob Elliston, vice president of racing and sales at Keeneland. "Their knowledge of the global horse industry and hands-on experience with top breeding farms will be invaluable to our client services and recruitment efforts."

As stallion seasons director at WinStar Farm since 2015, Wilson was responsible for all stallion sales-related activity associated with the farm's 22 stallions. He also has been involved in bloodstock sales and management at Three Chimneys Farm and with Bradley Thoroughbred Brokerage.

Roethemeier comes to Keeneland from Darley America, where he handled client development and nominations sales. Prior to Darley, he was the marketing executive at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket.
