Attendu first son of Acclamation to join French stallion ranks

Acclamation's sire-line has taken off in a big way in Britain and Ireland in recent years, so it comes as no surprise to find the Rathbarry resident will be even better represented come the 2018 breeding season.

In addition to Prix de la Foret hero Aclaim finding his way to the National Stud in Newmarket, another son Attendu will be his first representative to stand in France after being added to the roster at Haras du Quesnay, where he will be offered at a fee of €5,000.

Bred and raced by the Wertheimer brothers, Attendu managed to win in Group company at two, three and four, from seven furlongs to a mile. He also showed enough precocity to finish third to Johannes Vermeer in the Criterium International at two.

Attendu is a half-brother to three stakes performers, including dual Group 2-winning miler Impassable and the three-year-old Redoute's Choice colt Spotify, twice placed in Pattern company this year, out of an unplaced half-sister to Listed hurdle winner Pop Art.

It will certainly be fascinating to see how the four-year-old Attendu fares when offered to French breeders next year.

Victory Song to be heard at Preux

Dansili will also see a son enter stud in France as the former Aidan O'Brien-trained Victory Song will join Nidor at the newly established Haras des Preux.

A dual Listed winner in Italy, Victory Song raced in four different countries and raced on until seven.

Bred by Orpendale, Victory Song has a pedigree which makes him well credentialled for a place at stud, as he is a half-brother to Wonder Of Wonders, trained by the master of Ballydoyle to place in the Epsom, Irish and Yorkshire Oaks in 2011.

Meanwhile, his dam is All Too Beautiful, a daughter of Sadler's Wells who was second in the 2004 Oaks and is a sister to the mighty Galileo.
