High-class Epic Hero among the offerings at Tuesday's July Sale
Recent winners Resilience and Jack The Savage catalogued for Tattersalls Ascot
Members from under the Godolphin umbrella should provide interest at Tattersalls Ascot’s one-day July Sale on Tuesday.
Around 100 horses are set to go through the ring from 11am and six have been catalogued from various parts of the powerhouse operation including Epic Hero (lot 70), who was last seen finishing a fine fourth to Lord North in last year’s Dubai Turf for Abdullah Menahi and the Crisford stable.
Last year’s Cambridgeshire winner Bedouin’s Story has been withdrawn from the event but unraced three-year-olds High Renaissance (67), a Farhh sibling to the Group 1 Jebel Hatta winner Blair House out of a sister to Poet’s Voice and Alentar (68), by Teofilo from the close family of Lazuli, are several more that buyers might take a chance on.
A few more were added as recent wildcards including Resilience (55), who has been in fine form for Tony Carroll this year in winning four times including his most recent start in a handicap at Windsor last month off a mark of 85.
Laura Horsfall is offering Jack The Savage (89), a five-year-old gelding by Passing Glance who stayed on well to win a Worcester bumper at the first time of asking only a few days ago.
Last staged in 2019, the sale has drawn a mixed horses-in-training offerings from Flat trainers such as Archie Watson and Andrew Balding and leading National Hunt operators including Nicky Henderson and Gordon Elliott, a handful of ex-point-to-pointers and half a dozen National Hunt stores from Shade Oak Stud, chiefly by its resident stallion Telescope.
