Three lots from Johnstown Stud, as part of the late Sir Robert Ogden’s complete dispersal, topped the Tattersalls Online March Sale on Wednesday, headed by the two-year-old Hamlet, who sold to Mount Racing for 26,000gns.

A son of No Nay Never, Hamlet is out of the Group 3-placed Galileo mare Pandora, who is in turn a full-sister to the Listed placed Allegio and Isabella.

Purchasing on behalf of Mount Racing, John Quinn said: "He has a lovely pedigree and is a nice, scopey individual. I was able to visit where he’s been prepped and was very pleased when I saw him move.

"The Tattersalls Online platform is a great vehicle for a sale of this type, for both buyers and vendors."

Alliance Bloodstock and Orbital Racing went to 24,000gns to secure Tudor, a son of Zoffany out of Tiger Lilly, a winning full-sister to Tattersalls Gold Cup third Robin Hood.

Alliance Bloodstock’s Eimear Donnelly said: "Tudor has been purchased for a new syndicate, Orbital Racing. He's a lovely horse, the last of the Zoffanys and rated 77, and will suit what we are looking for."

The three-year-old was placed on his second start for David O'Meara last term, while his full-brother, the two-year-old Valley Of Kings, also made 24,000gns, in his case to Fernham Farm.

Matt Coleman, adviser to the complete dispersal of Ogden’s stock, said: "The Tattersalls Online platform offered us an effective way of selling these horses and we’re pleased with the prices that they all made. It was a very positive experience.”

A total of 14 lots sold, for turnover of 137,000gns, an average of 9,786gns and a median of 6,500gns.
