A Dark Angel half-brother to Classic winner Beauty Parlour is among those making their debuts in a hot Doncaster novice on Sunday (2.35).

Bastille, who is trained by Tim Easterby for Habton Racing, is a half-brother to the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches winner and to the Listed Prix Omnium scorer and Grade 2-placed sire Barocci, both by Deep Impact.

Bred and raced by the Wildenstein family, Beauty Parlour was sold as part of their dispersal at Goffs in 2016 where she was purchased for €1.6m by Peter Brant's White Birch Farm. Brant also bought her 2016 Dansili filly foal at Goffs for €450,000 and, named Blowout, she went on to win the Grade 1 First Lady Stakes last season for Birch and Chad Brown.

Bred by Ed's Stud, Bastille was offered at Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in 2022 but was unsold at 45,000gns. Habton Racing's grey is out of the Listed winner Bastet, a Giant's Causeway half-sister to Might And Power whose seven Group 1 triumphs included the Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup.

Bastet is also a half-sister to Miss Priority, dam of Hong Kong Mile and Hong Kong Derby winner Lucky Owners and second dam of Group 1 Storm Queen Stakes and Australian Guineas winner Mosheen.

Her two-year-old Kingman filly is offered by Malcolm Bastard at the Arqana Breeze-Up Sale in May.

Amongst Bastille's rivals is another well-bred son of Yeomanstown Stud's Dark Angel; the Roger Varian-trained Goemon owned by Mohamed Khalid Abdulrahim.

He is the first foal out of Group 3 Sceptre Stakes winner Spangled, a Starspangledbanner granddaughter of Lockinge Stakes and 1,000 Guineas winner Russian Rhythm. Goeman was bred by Cheveley Park Stud and sold to Ebonos for 125,000gns at Book 1.

Charlie Appleby's newcomer Border Edge has a pedigree to note as a son of Shamardal out of Emirates Rewards, a Dubawi half-sister to Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf winner Outstrip. Their dam Asi Siempre by El Prado won the Grade 1 Spinster Stakes.

The Tom Clover-trained Castleberg Rock is another making his debut in this contest. By Fastnet Rock, he is the first foal of French Group 3 and Listed winner Banzari by Motivator, who was also third in the Grade 1 EP Taylor Stakes. Bred by Sun Bloodstock, he was bought by his trainer for 20,000gns at the Tattersalls December Yearling Sale.

Two of last year's leading first season sires - Caravaggio and Profitable - are represented by newcomers. Encourageable by Profitable is the second runner for John and Jess Dance and their new trainer James Horton. Out of Dutch Courage, a Dutch Art half-sister to Fred Darling winner Dandhu, he cost 105,000gns at last year's Craven Breeze-Up Sale.

Maljoom, from the first crop of Caravaggio, represents William Haggas and Sheikh Ahmed Al Maktoum. He was bought for 160,000gns by Federico Barberini from Kilminfoyle House Stud at Book 2 and is descended from Grade 1 Hollywood Oaks winner Pattern Step.

No Nay Nicki, successful on the second of her two juvenile starts, sets the standard. Trained by Richard Fahey for PD Smith Holdings Limited, the daughter of No Nay Never is from the outstanding Hascombe and Valiant Studs family of Golden Horn and Rebecca Sharp, her third dam.
