Group 1 winner Whistlejacket has been sold by Coolmore and their partners and will take up stud duties at Haras de Grandcamp where he will stand for an introductory fee of €14,000 in 2026.

A report in France-Sire on Friday revealed the son of No Nay Never had been bought by a cohort of breeders headed up by Jean-Philippe Dubois and will have his stallion career managed at Haras de Grandcamp by Jean-Daniel Manceau of Capucines Bloodstock.

Trained by Aidan O’Brien for Coolmore and White Birch Farm’s Peter Brant, Whistlejacket landed a Listed race in the May of his two-year-old season, before soaring to victory in the Group 2 July Stakes at Newmarket.

Eight days after finishing a solid second in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh, Whistlejacket broke through in the highest company with a stylish win in the Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville. He finished second behind fellow juvenile star Shadow Of Light in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes on his penultimate start as a two-year-old.

Jean-Philippe Dubois said: "I had the opportunity to follow Whistlejacket's two-year-old season; he was a true model of precocity and courage. His victory in the Prix Morny made a lasting impression. It had been a long time since a two-year-old of this calibre had entered stud in France."

Eric Lhermite, director of Haras de Grandcamp, added: “We are particularly proud to welcome Whistlejacket to Haras de Grandcamp. His profile combines speed, precocity, and exceptional pedigree. He is a horse that perfectly matches the expectations of French breeders, and we will do everything we can to support him towards a stallion career worthy of his talent.”

Whistlejacket was bought by MV Magnier and White Birch Farm for 500,000gns out of Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale in 2023.

He is out of Adventure Seeker, a daughter of Bering, whose five other winners include Whistlejacket’s Phoenix Stakes-winning older brother Little Big Bear, who stands on the Coolmore roster.

Whistlejacket will stand alongside Queen Elizabeth II Stakes winner Big Rock, who will command an unaltered fee of €12,000, while Zagrey will also stand for an unchanged fee of €6,000.
