Inglis announced on Sunday that the Great Southern Sale, which was set to be held in Melbourne, will be brought forward and conducted in Sydney on July 9 in the wake of a spike on Covid-19 cases in Victoria.

“Following significant consultation with vendors and buyers, it has been agreed to move the Great Southern Sale to Sydney,” Inglis said.

“The auction will now be held at Riverside on Thursday, July 9, a day after the Australian Weanling Sale, creating a spectacular two-day offering of the southern hemisphere’s finest weanlings. Over 400 weanlings will be offered across two days of the consolidated sale, with the selling schedule to be confirmed in the coming days.”

Interested parties who intend on being at Riverside Stables for the Great Southern will need to register to comply with Inglis’ Covid Safe policy, as is the case for the Easter Round 2 and Scone Yearling Sales (July 5) and the Australian Weanling Sale (July 8).

The Melbourne Gold Yearling Sale (July 16) is expected to go ahead as planned at Inglis’ Oaklands Junction complex on July 16.
