Goffs UK and Doncaster racecourse have teamed up to offer a new incentive scheme featuring five bumper races across the year, each carrying a £10,000 bonus for any winner bought at the auction house's Spring Store Sale.

The bonus races will be staged in conjunction with the Doncaster Spring Store Sale’s established £50,000 bumper, held annually at Newbury in March, thus giving connections a chance to win £100,000 in prize-money over a total of six races.

The new initiative will be offered over five bumper races at Doncaster: three in January and February and two later in the year.

The bonus payments will be in addition to prize-money and will be open to any horse bought at the Goffs UK Spring Store Sale with payment to be split between the owner (£7,500) and trainer (£2,500).

“We've been looking at ways in which we can further invest in our Spring Store Sale and this new bumper series, in association with Doncaster racecourse, will undoubtedly be a big draw card for buyers leading into our 2020 Spring Store Sale," said Goffs UK managing director Tim Kent.

“This new bonus series gives owners and trainers multiple chances to compete for more prize-money and there's no limit to how many bonuses graduates can win, meaning horses can be campaigned throughout the whole series and then target our already established £50,000 bumper at Newbury in March.

"We would like to extend our thanks to Doncaster racecourse for their partnership in this exciting new initiative and we look forward to offering the first eligible horses at our Spring Store Sale in May.”

Clerk of Doncaster Roderick Duncan commented: “We have long enjoyed a close association with the team at Goffs UK and have been delighted to work with them to introduce this new bonus scheme for bumper races at Doncaster.

"We hope that this bonus scheme will be well received in both the bloodstock and racing worlds, and encourage more people to look to the upcoming Goffs UK Spring Store Sale and subsequently a Doncaster bumper from next year.”
