Frankel colt Nuance strikes gold in Charlie Fellowes Tattersalls trifecta
A shopping spree by Qatari owners at October's Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale had the requisite outcome as Charlie Fellowes completed a clean sweep with the arrivals in the valuable Al Rayyan Stakes in Qatar on Thursday.
The impressive winner of the first prize of around £62,000 was Frankel colt Nuance, who had been knocked down to Charlie Gordon Watson Bloodstock for 42,000gns.
Bred by Cheveley Park Stude he is out of Group 3-winning mare Intimation - a half-sister to Falmouth scorer Veracious - and had rounded off his time with William Haggas by winning a nursery at Catterick.
Chasing Khalifa Bin Sheail Al Kuwari's purchase home at a respectable distance were two progeny of Cotai Glory.
Mot And The Messer, a dual winner for Tom Dascombe, was knocked down to the same agency for 30,000gns at that event, while third-placed Porsche Cavalier, a winner for Robyn Brisland, had cost 60,000gns.
It was a fine result for Fellowes, whose charges are now set to remain in Doha.
