Cheveley Park Stud has announced the arrival of the first reported foal by unbeaten champion juvenile Vandeek, a colt born at Mickley Stud.
The new arrival is out of Alfa Brow, a half sister to Alfa Kellenic. That filly is a six-time winner who was also third in the Listed Boadicea Stakes at Newmarket in October. The family also includes Group-winning sprinter Bishops Court.
Mickley Stud's Richard Kent said: "[He's] a beautiful first foal with a good front leg."
Vandeek retired to Cheveley Park Stud after a career that saw him go undefeated as a juvenile, with his victories headlined by the Middle Park Stakes and Prix Morny. The son of Havana Grey also landed the Richmond Stakes that term and was placed in both his starts at three, including the July Cup.
He remains at an unchanged fee of £15,000 for his second season, having covered a high-class book of over 160 mares. He has recently returned from shuttling to Arrowfield Stud in Australia.
Vandeek, bred by Kelly Thomas's Maywood Stud, was a 625,000gns Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale purchase by KHK Racing. He is a half-brother to last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf and Coventry Stakes winner Gstaad.
