Harry Angel, the world champion sprinter who won the Haydock Sprint Cup in record time, sired his first foal on Wednesday when Karijini produced a healthy chestnut filly at Brightwalton Stud.

"She's a very nice foal and very strong for a maiden mare," said stud manager Sean Keane.

"She's well put together, short-coupled and with good body and shoulder. I'm very happy with her."

Karijini, who won three all-weather sprints for trainer Archie Watson, hails from the Colorspin family of Meon Valley Stud.

Harry Angel broke his maiden in the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes on his second start at two, and continued to progress as a three-year-old, landing the July Cup from Limato and breaking the course record when following up in the Haydock Sprint Cup.

Harry Angel stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £20,000.
