A horse such as Summer Sands can make a career in bloodstock. Robson Aguiar, one of the rising young stars in breeze-up consigning, was the man who paid just £2,000 for the son of Coach House as a yearling at the Tattersalls Ireland Ascot September Sale.

Seven months later, he received more than 42 times that sum when the colt was bought by the Cool Silk Partnership and Stroud Coleman Bloodstock.

Following a six-race campaign with Richard Fahey marked by two-year-old trophy triumphs at Beverley and Redcar, as well as a third to Earthlight in the Middle Park, he was transferred to Joseph O’Brien for some 625,000gns.
