Rathasker Stud stallion Coulsty had a big breakthrough in America as daughter Shantisara claimed the Grade 3 Pucker Up Stakes at Arlington.

It was the smart seven-furlong performer and son of Kodiac's second winner at that level, following last year's Princess Margaret Stakes success by Santosha.

There could be plenty more to come from the filly, who quickened three lengths away on what was only her second Stateside start for the Chad Brown stable.

Shantisara had been bought for just 10,000gns at the 2020 Tattersalls Craven Sale by agent Federico Barberini and won twice in France prior to moving across the Atlantic earlier this year.

She was bred by Oliver Donlon and Philippa Proctor Quinn's Foxland Stud in Ireland with her dam, the unraced Dalakhani mare Kharana, sourced cheaply from an Aga Khan draft at Goffs.

Coulsty, who was standing for €4,000 this year, is the sire of 14 worldwide winners to date from small crops.

On a feature day at a famous track which is due to close, the Grade 1 Beverly D Stakes went to Camelot's Pretty Polly Stakes runner-up Santa Barbara. Ryan Moore's mount had already landed last month's Belmont Oaks.

What was formerly known as the Arlington Million, run this year as the Mr. D Stakes, honouring long-time track owner Richard L. Duchossois, whose 100th birthday is on October 7, also went to a cheap purchase.

Trainer Hugh Robertson and owners Wolfe Racing selected English Channel's son Two Emmys for just $4,500 as a yearling at Keeneland but earned a bumper payday as he held off Kingman colt Domestic Spending by a neck after a front-running ride.
