Coolmore's 2.8 million gns filly out of Mohaather's sister set to make debut
History runs at the Curragh on Sunday, as does Quiet Reflection's first foal

Last year’s 2.1 million gns Tattersalls October Book 1 yearling now named Hafit showed a brilliant attitude to get off the mark at the first time of asking at Newmarket on Friday evening. Now it’s the turn of an even pricier purchase from the same auction to make her debut.
Step forward the daughter of Galileo out of Mohaather’s sister Prize Exhibit, who was just that in the Park Paddocks ring last autumn, when Coolmore’s MV Magnier saw off the rival attentions of a few other big hitters, including David Redvers, to bring the gavel down at a cool 2.8m gns.
Being part of the Ballydoyle fold has led to the filly, since named History, not even being first string on her debut at the Curragh on Sunday, with Ryan Moore due to jet back from New York to partner Dubawi’s daughter Concert Hall, out of Oaks heroine Was and a winner at the same track last month on her second start, for which she carries a penalty and has to concede her equally blue-blooded stablemate 7lb.
History, for whom there will be long-term hopes around races like the Oaks for her, is the mount of Seamie Heffernan.
Bred by Barronstown Stud, she is the first foal out of Prize Exhibit, who was no slouch on the course, excelling after her move to California and winning two Grade 2s and a brace of Grade 3s.
However, it was as much, and probably more, the exploits of her brother Mohaather, explosive winner of last year’s Sussex Stakes, which fuelled the bidding war at Tattersalls for the filly by Showcasing out of Roodeye.
After digging deepest, Magnier told colleague James Thomas: "She's a very nice filly, Aidan [O'Brien] and all the lads really liked her. David Nagle [Barronstown Stud] has been saying how good a filly she is for a very long time and we're just very lucky to be able to buy her with Michael [Tabor], Derrick [Smith] and Georg [von Opel]."
Mohaather and Prize Exhibit are also siblings to Roodle, dam of Accidental Agent.
History makes her debut in the 7f fillies’ event at 1.55, while half an hour earlier, in the opening maiden over the same trip, it’s the turn of a stablemate with strong links to her.
Bluegrass is a son of Galileo out of Showcasing’s fine daughter Quiet Reflection, her first foal and who will have Moore in the saddle for his debut.

Bred by Coolmore, who went to 2.1m gns to secure Quiet Reflection at the 2017 Tattersalls December Mares Sale following the conclusion of her racing career, Bluegrass faces a big field of 15 rivals but none of them will have the same level of attention.
Quiet Reflection was a winner of eight of her 13 starts for Karl Burke and the Ontoawinner syndicate, who most definitely were with her, for her successes included two Group 1s, the Commonwealth Cup and the Haydock Sprint Cup. She also landed a Group 2, three Group 3s and a Listed race.
Not many of the 16 declared have run, but the standard is most definitely set by Lope De Vega’s son Cowboy Justice, a promising second on his debut to Beauty Inspire, who is now unbeaten after two starts having since won a Group 3.
