Capri's brother Cypress Creek records first Group victory at Naas

The Anabaa mare Dialafara joined a select group of broodmares to have produced more than one European Pattern winner this season after her three-year-old son Cypress Creek scorched clear of his rivals in the Group 3 Loughbrown Stakes over 2m at Naas on Sunday.

Dialafara is also responsible for last year's Irish Derby and St Leger hero Capri, who annexed the Group 3 Alleged Stakes at Naas in April.

The other four mares who have produced more than one Pattern winner this season are Divya (Destino and Dschingis Secret), Halfway To Heaven (Magical and Rhododendron), Highphar (Castellar and Recoletos) and Waldlerche (Waldgeist and Waldlied).

Cypress Creek also completed a Group-race double at Naas for Galileo, who had earlier supplied the Weld Park Stakes winner Hermosa, a sister to Hydrangea and The United States.

As well as siring three of the first four home, Galileo is also the paternal grandsire of runner-up Twilight Payment through his son Teofilo.

Bred by Lynch Bages and Camas Park Stud, Cypress Creek is one of four winners from as many runners out of the winning Anabaa mare Dialafara, who also produced the Acomb Stakes fourth Jamaica.

Cypress Creek is bred on the same Galileo-Anabaa cross as this month's St Leger runner-up Southern France and Lush Lashes, who notched three top-flight victories a decade ago this year.

Dialafara is out of Diamilina, winner of the Prix de Malleret and whose own dam Diamonaka was second in the same contest.

Both Diamilina and her half-brother Diamond Green were competitive at the highest level, with Diamilina second in the Prix Vermeille and Diamond Green placing in three Group 1 contests over a mile, including the Poule d'Essai des Poulains and St James's Palace Stakes.

Dialafara - who has been bred exclusively to Galileo - also has a yearling filly and colt foal by Coolmore's perennial champion sire.
