Breeders' Cup Classic hero Knicks Go 2022 stud fee set at $30,000 by Taylor Made
Del Mar winner could defend Pegasus World Cup crown before second career begins
Taylor Made Stallions has announced that Breeders’ Cup Classic winner and likely 2021 Horse of the Year Knicks Go will stand the upcoming breeding season for $30,000.
A scintillating winner of last Saturday’s ten-furlong Classic in 1min 59.57sec, nearly eclipsing the 18-year-old Del Mar track record set by Candy Ride, and the fastest Breeders’ Cup Classic winner on dirt since Ghostzapper in 2004, Knicks Go now boasts a lifetime bankroll of $8,673,135 for owner Korea Racing Authority.
Following a superb 2021 campaign in which he also won the Pegasus World Cup Invitational and the historic Whitney Stakes, Knicks Go could cap his career with a defence of his title in the 2022 Pegasus World Cup on January 29.
He is the number one-ranked North American horse on Longines World Best Racehorse Rankings and tops NTRA’s Thoroughbred Poll.
The fastest miler in Keeneland history, having won the 2020 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile in the new track-record time of 1min 33.85sec, Knicks Go is a multiple Grade 1 winner from eight to nine furlongs and has run triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures of 113, 112, 111, 108 (twice), 107, and 104, all in top company.
Brilliant and precocious, Knicks Go was a debut maiden special weight winner at two and went on to win the 2018 Breeders’ Futurity at Keeneland by a dominating five and a helf lengths. He was also runner-up to eventual champion Game Winner in that year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile.
Taylor Made had previously announced the 2022 fees for their other six stallions, the team headed by Not This Time at $45,000.
