Brametot on the move to Gestut Ebbesloh in Germany for 2020
Son of Rajsaman has spent his first two seasons at Haras de Bouquetot
Dual French Classic hero Brametot is being transferred from Haras de Bouquetot in France to Gestut Ebbesloh in Germany, where his close relation Monsun transformed the breeding scene.
The five-year-old son of Rajsaman was a €26,000 Arqana December foal purchase by Sylvain Vidal and entered training with Jean-Claude Rouget for owners Gerard Augustin-Normand and Elisabeth Vidal.
He finished first in three of his four starts at two, including in the Listed Grand Criterium de Bordeaux, and was an impressive winner of the Prix de Fontainebleau on his three-year-old bow, after which he was part-sold to Al Shaqab Racing.
On Brametot's next starts he defeated Le Brivido and Rivet to land the Poule d'Essai des Poulains and demoted multiple Group 1 winners Waldgeist and Recoletos to the places when successful in the Prix du Jockey Club.
The French Derby proved to be the colt's last victory, though he did run a creditable fifth to Enable in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, and at the end of his three-year-old season he was retired to join the Al Shaqab Racing stallion roster at Haras de Bouquetot.
His introductory fee was set at €10,000, which was reduced to €6,000 for his second covering season this year, when his first crop of 61 foals were born.
The price will remain at €6,000 when he makes his debut at Gestut Ebbesloh, which is standing the stallion in association with Al Shaqab Racing.
Brametot was bred by Jorge Cardemil out of the winning Law Society mare Morning Light, a half-sister to multiple Group 1 winner Monsun, who became the best stallion ever to have stood in Germany.
Monsun's roll of honour includes 22 top-level winners, among them the exceptional talents Manduro, Maxios, Novellist, Shirocco and Stacelita, Melbourne Cup heroes Almandin, Fiorente and Protectionist, and Deutsches Derby-winning brothers Samum and Schiaparelli.
