Blue-blooded Simply Astounding lives up to billing with debut Naas success

The blue-blooded Simply Astounding lived up to her regal pedigree at Naas on Monday when she ran out a ready winner of the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden.
A daughter of the red-hot Wootton Bassett, she is the third foal out of Galileo's champion daughter Minding, who won seven races at the highest level, including the 1,000 Guineas, Oaks and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.
The sister to Oaks and Breeders' Cup heroine Tuesday and Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Empress Josephine is already the dam of a Group 1 winner in Henry Longfellow. That Dubawi colt went unbeaten at two, including in the National Stakes at the Curragh, while he was a narrow second to Rosallion in the St James's Palace at three and third in the Prix du Moulin.
Henry Longfellow commenced his stud career at Coolmore this year and was introduced to breeders at a fee of €15,000, while he will also shuttle to Rosemont in Australia later this year.
Minding, Tuesday and Empress Josephine are in turn out of Matron and Coronation Stakes winner Lillie Langtry, a Danehill Dancer close relation to Duke Of Marmalade's stakes winner Count Of Limonade and the Graded-placed Dansili mare Danilovna.
Minding has Magic Ring, a three-year-old Dubawi sister to Henry Longfellow, as well as a yearling colt by Gun Runner and a filly foal by Justify.
