Black Caviar didn't just get a chance to see her jockey Luke Nolen again, she also had the chance to reunite with her two-year-old daughter by More Than Ready at Flemington on Friday.

The champion sprinter is back in Victoria ahead of her appearance on Black Caviar Lightning Stakes day on Saturday and spent some time with her daughter at Lindsay Park's stables.

Last seen on the track almost seven years ago, the mare who was undefeated from 25 starts will parade for racegoers before the Lightning, a race that she was able to win three times.

With connections solely invested in ensuring an enjoyable retirement for their wonderful mare, this will be the first public appearance since her retirement and may be the only public appearance.

Luke Nolen, who rode her to victory 22 of the 25 times, said he couldn't believe how amazing and well she looked.

"She's in magnificent order, she looks like she could head out there tomorrow and still beat them," Nolen laughed.

"The owners have always put her wellbeing first, and that's clear to see when you look at her and see how happy she is."

A man of very few emotions, Nolen admitted reuniting with the mare that brought so many amazing memories to his career was a special moment.

"I'm not really emotional, but it was good to see her, give her a pat and feed her an apple," he said.

"She definitely remembered me and was on her best behaviour for the camera and media."

Nolen suggested that all sporting fans, not just racing fans, should head out to Flemington on Saturday to see the horse that changed the industry forever.

"We've been blessed with some quality champions in recent years, but she changed our sport, she made us front page news for the right reasons," he said.

"I'd encourage everyone to head out tomorrow, look at her, see how well she is and remember the joy and memories she provided all of us."
