With Irish jumping taking centre stage this weekend at the Dublin Racing Festival, there is the opportunity to buy into some of the country's liveliest pedigrees on Tuesday at Tattersalls Ireland's February National Hunt Sale.

Battleoverdoyen is likely to be a major contender for Sunday's Flogas Novices' Chase on the back of three victories over fences, most recently in Grade 1 company over Christmas, and his half-brother (lot 44) could be one of the stars of the show.

Born on June 2 last year and offered by breeder Caroline Berry, the chestnut colt is a son of Mount Nelson and also a sibling of winners Swordsman and Treackle Tart.

Railstown Stud, consigning on behalf of Kevin and Noel Heaney, will be optimistic of a good return from their young Milan filly (117), given that her point-winning half-sister My Whirlwind realised a record £400,000 at last year's Cheltenham Festival sale, while that same combination also offer a colt by Walk in the Park (111) ?out of a French Grade 1 winner and half-sister to top-class staying hurdler Crystal D’Ainay.

With more than 300 catalogued lots, there are plenty to get through but many buyers will want to see out the trip given that Foxleigh House is offering a June 1 Champs Elysees colt who is a half-brother to crowd favourite The New One (292).

Others of note include Rahinston Stud's No Risk At All sibling of useful winners Amore Alato and Solomon Grey (259) and the Ballincurrig House Stud-offered Califet half-brother to exciting hurdler-chaser Angels Breath (206).

Right at the end of the session, a few broodmare prospects are being offered including another from Ballincurrig House in Isabellas Girl (320), who is Faugheen's half-sister.
