In the atmosphere of uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus crisis, Tattersalls has pressed on with preparations for its Ascot mixed sale on Thursday and confirmed that its breeze-up offering at the same venue on March 31 and April 1 is scheduled to go ahead.

The Goffs group, whose next scheduled fixtures are the Aintree sale on April 2 and the Doncaster breeze-up on April 22-23, has fallen in line with the Irish government and will review the situation on March 29 when restrictions and closures in that country are due to be lifted.

So much unpredictability cannot be good for any participants.
