Affaire Solitaire to relocate to Haras d'Annebault from Italy
Group-winning son of Danehill Dancer has made a bright start at stud
Affaire Solitaire, the Group-winning son of Danehill Dancer, will be standing at Niccolo and Vita Riva’s Haras d'Annebault in Normandy next year.
From a very small first crop from Allevamento Razza Ticino in Italy, Affaire Solitaire has already had a couple of winners, receiving a good selection of black-type mares owing to a bonus scheme operated by his owners.
Winner of the Prix Exbury, Affaire Solitaire was also placed twice in the Group 2 Prix Harcourt.
He will be the only son of the influential Danehill Dancer to stand in France and is from a fine Wildenstein family, out of the Listed-winning Alzao mare Arlesienne, dam of three other stakes performers and a full-sister to US Grade 1 winner Angara.
His granddam Ange Bleu was a full-sister to the renowned racehorse and sire Arcangues, from the immediate family of Group 1 stars Aquarelliste and Artiste Royale, while Vertem Futurity scorer Luxembourg is also on the page.
Niccolo Riva said: “Danehill Dancer was a very good stallion and has several proven sons at stud, so we think Affaire Solitaire will be a valuable addition to the stallion ranks in France, with great nicks to Sadler’s Wells and Monsun line mares.
"He is an imposing 1.69m, with great bone and movement, and, although he has done well from his limited opportunities and is capable of getting a top-class horse on the Flat, one can only think his stock will improve at three and he is a genuine dual-purpose stallion.
"Some of the best studs in Italy had yearlings by him this year, so his best years should be ahead of him.”
