What's the story?

Last year's Goffs Orby Book 1 sale-topper makes his eagerly awaited debut for Charlie Appleby and Godolphin at Newmarket. Named Treanmor, the two-year-old Frankel colt sold to Anthony Stroud for €2 million from Croom House Stud's consignment at the sale last October.

Denis Brosnan of Croom House Stud said after the sale: "He was an outstanding foal and yearling all the way through. The pedigree is there, he has the pedigree of a stallion, so let’s hope he goes and does it on the track. I’m delighted Anthony Stroud bought the horse because they have missed out on some of our really good ones over the years. Let’s hope this is another good one."

How is he bred?

Treanmor is the first foal out of Loch Lein, a daughter of Invincible Spirit, whose career highlight came in the Listed Prix Amandine in Deauville for Jessica Harrington. The now seven-year-old was twice placed in Group 3 company, including when third to subsequent Group 1 heroine Pearls Galore in the Fairy Bridge Stakes at Tipperary.

Loch Lein is a sister to Windsor Castle third Pedestal, while she is also a half-sister to Bahrain Listed runner-up Oliver Show. They are in turn out of Ashley Hall, a Maria's Mon half-sister to American Grade 1 winner Bandini. Loch Lein has a yearling filly by Saxon Warrior and was covered by Wootton Bassett last year.

Who does he face?

Among the colt's five rivals is KHK Racing's A'Ali colt Vlad, a 200,000gns Tattersalls Book 2 purchase by Stroud Coleman Bloodstock from Yeomanstown Stud last year. Bred by Newsells Park Stud, which stands the colt's exciting first-season sire, he is out of Holy Roman Emperor mare Royal Empress. The Group 3-placed winner has produced a smart sort in Prestige Stakes runner-up Prado from four individual winners to date.

Another to note is Dontwaryboutathing, a filly by leading first-season sire Starman, who hails from the family of dual Derby hero Harzand.
