Investors from around the world fought out a virtual bidding battle for the exciting German-trained filly Mascha on Monday, and it was Michel Zerolo of Oceanic Bloodstock who came out triumphant at €450,000.

The auction on started at 10am on Monday morning and ten bids were registered in the final half-hour, with three parties still in contention after the €300,000 mark.

Mascha, a three-year-old daughter of Le Havre trained by Andreas Suborics, won the Listed Diana-Trial at Baden-Baden by three lengths this month.

She now heads to the yard of Jean-Claude Rouget, who will continue to train her on behalf of her new owner.

Arqana CEO Eric Hoyeau commented at the end of the auction: “It has been another spirited, successful sale on and I want to thank Andreas Suborics as well as all the buyers who gave this smart filly a go.

“The platform is so efficient with form horses and has really captured the interest of agents from around the world – to have three live bidders beyond the €300,000 threshold is no mean feat!

“We wish Mascha’s new connections the very best with their purchase.”
