Madame Chiang's daughter strikes for tried-and-tested combination at Kempton
Owner-breeder Kirsten Rausing was provided with a satisfying moment at Kempton Wednesday after a handsome victory from the first foal of her 2014 Qipco British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes winner Madame Chiang.
David Simcock, who also guided Madame Chiang through a career which included the Musidora at York, has been sent Kingman two-year-old Oriental Mystique, a promising newcomer on her debut at Newmarket last month.
Always handy under Jim Crowley, who also rode Madame Chiang to her keynote success, the 4-1 chance saw off the advances of Declared Interest and Nottingham winner and 15-8 favourite Dubai Love to take the 32Red Casino EBF Fillies' Novice Stakes by a length and a half.
Tacitly, a daughter of Juddmonte's Falmouth Stakes scorer Timepiece, caught the eye on debut in fourth.
Oriental Mystique is of added significance because Madame Chiang was one of the Group 1 winners for her sire Archipenko, a fine servant to Rausing's Lanwades Stud who died two years ago.
