Katelyn Butler top trainee as latest Godolphin Flying Start class graduates
Ceremony took place at Kildangan Stud to an audience of industry leaders
The Godolphin Flying Start class of 2017-19 graduated in front of family, Godolphin management and industry members during a ceremony at the Cape Cross centre at Kildangan Stud on Friday.
Invited guests included Godolphin Flying Start alumni Jack Davison, now an up and coming trainer, and consignor Michael Buckley, while also present were Jim Bolger, Christy Grassick, Michael Halford and John Osborne.
Godolphin UK managing director and Godolphin Flying Start trustee Hugh Anderson presented the diplomas to the 12 trainees. Four of the graduating class received a distinction award and Katelyn Butler from Victoria, Australia, was honoured as the top trainee of 2019.
The latest Flying Start graduates are, in full, Philip Antonacci, Alison Brassil, Amy Buckley, Katelyn Butler, Liam Elvidge, Tom Harris, Ian Hickey, Mackenzie Kirker-Head, William McNeile, Chloe Pitts, Charlotte Rinckenbach and Naomi Tukker.
Some of the graduates have already been appointed to roles within the racing and breeding industry. Butler joins Twin Hills Stud in Australia and Antonacci is working for Preferred Equine in the US, while Buckley and Rinckenbach have posts with trainers Jessica Harrington and Francis Graffard.
