Johnson joins De Burgh Equine in consultancy role
Australian native previously served as Roger Varian's assistant trainer
De Burgh Equine has welcomed Will Johnson, who will join the team as a bloodstock consultant.
Johnson, who left his role as assistant trainer to Roger Varian earlier this year, was born and raised in Australia and also gained experience working with leading Australian trainers David Hayes and Robert Smerdon. He also holds a business degree in marketing from Monash University.
"I am delighted Will is joining us at De Burgh Equine at a time when we are expanding our business in the southern hemisphere and developing bloodstock markets," said Hubie de Burgh.
"Will comes from a family steeped in Australian racing history and has worked for some hugely successful trainers. He comes to us highly recommended by all of those he worked for, and I am sure he will be a valuable asset to our existing clients and new ones in the future."
"I am very excited to be joining De Burgh Equine," added Johnson. "Hubie's results in both hemispheres are second to none. The racing industry as a whole is becoming more globalised by the year and I look forward to building long-term relationships with participants across continents."
