Invincible Spirit fee left unchanged for 2018 breeding season

New recruit Decorated Knight priced at €15,000

Invincible Spirit: will be joined by his son National Defense at the Irish National Stud

At €120,000, Invincible Spirit will hold his position as the second most expensive advertised sire in Ireland, after the Irish National Stud released 2018 covering fees for its eight-strong roster.

The stud's main breadwinner was offered to breeders at the same price for the past two breeding seasons and he enjoyed a particularly successful year in 2016 when he supplied a hat-trick of Group 1 winners in National Defense, Profitable and Signs Of Blessing.

French champion two-year-old National Defense - who won the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere in October of that year and finished second in the Prix Djebel in April - will join his sire at the Irish National Stud, where he will command a fee of €12,000.

Three-time Group 1 winner Decorated Knight is another new recruit and his price has been set at €15,000.

Free Eagle, whose first foals landed on the ground this year, has seen his fee clipped to €15,000.

"We are delighted to announce a very competitive set of fees for 2018 continuing our commitment to offering high quality stallions at reasonable values," said Cathal Beale, chief executive of the Irish National Stud.

"With two exciting new additions in Decorated Knight and National Defense, we look forward to welcoming breeders to the Irish National Stud to view this exciting lineup in the coming weeks."
